چکیده

Background Necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC) is a prematurity-related complication of the gastrointestinal tract that affects 3-15% preterm infants. Due to its atypical signs and symptoms, NEC often diagnosed late, leading mortality morbidity.
Objective To describe incidence, characteristics, survival rate infants with in Neonatal Unit Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital.
Methods This prospective cohort study was conducted on born Hospital 2019 who had Bell stage 2 or higher. Subjects were recruited consecutively. classified into either early-onset (<14 days life) late-onset (?14 life). We identified risk factors using multiple Cox regression.
Results Within period, 55/639 NEC. Mean gestational age 31.16 (SD 2.63) weeks mean birth weight 1,378.12 438.26) grams. The median at diagnosis 6 (range 0-24) days. most common symptoms bleeding (29.09%) abdominal distension (29.09%). Plain radiographs showed dilated bowels 92.72%, thickened intestinal walls 83.63%, pneumatosis intestinalis 61.81% subjects. Positive blood cultures found 63.63% subjects, Staphylococcus epidermidis Klebsiella pneumoniae being predominant organisms. Median 27 31 for <32 ?32 age, respectively (P=0.37). 28 NEC, (P=0.07), 23 <1,000 grams ?1,000 grams, (P=0.14).
Conclusion incidence among 8.6%. 27.27%. Early-onset similar rates.
